Founded in 1986, the Academy of Locksmithing Inc. is located in the province of Ontario. It provides professional technical training in all facets of locksmithing, which include keying, door security and how to work with different kinds of locks. The academy is a recognized private college under the Private Career Colleges Act.
The Academy of Locksmithing Inc. offers a number of comprehensive courses, which focus on locksmithing as a tradesman skill. As security becomes a growing concern, the services of a professional locksmith are in rising demand. These courses ensure that students are up to date with the latest technology and are familiar with foreign and older locking systems.
The academy offers a wide range of courses, including a basic locksmithing course that covers aspects such as lock types, key production, duplication, door hardware and key cutting. Courses are available for master keying and making key impressions. Other classes focus on interchangeable core cylinders and troubleshooting push-button locks and professional lock picking, which focuses on various manipulation methods.
Classes are also available to teach students about the latest security developments, how they operate, auto locks, the basics of door installation and door hardware installation. A special class is also offered which teaches a number of tips and tricks of the locksmith trade.
