Auctioneering College of Canada is one of the oldest registered auction schools in Canada. It offers programs to help students train for a career in the Auctioneering profession. The program costs $1395.00 and is of 2 weeks duration with classes optionally held on Saturdays. Students may register using a credit card and financial aid is available to the deserving candidates. In house financing is also available. The institution also arranges for accommodation if the students desire it.
The training provides them with guidance in conducting an auction. The students learn how to open an auction. They are also given tips to overcome stage fright and are taught to use the right tone by giving them speech and voice training. They are trained in salesmanship as well as in using the right techniques to solicit business. They are taught to hold sales of a variety of items including houses, livestock, furniture, machinery and merchandise. They are also trained in Auction Ethics and are trained in the right techniques of Clerking and Cashiering.
The students have to take a test in order to get the diploma. The test is a sale to the public in a live auction with a written test. With more auctions coming up the demand for well trained auctioneers is on the rise.
