The Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine was established in 2004 by Dr. Cheng. The institution offers diploma programs in acupuncture, massage therapy and TCM. The students are trained by highly qualified individuals.
The Acupuncture diploma has duration of 3 years, the Doctor of TCM Diploma has duration of 4 years, Chinese Tui Na massage program has duration of 1 year, and students have a choice of clinics to complete the clinical part of their training. The small class sizes enable the students to get quality education. A Focused Chinese Acupressure / Tui Na Massage Program is offered part-time comprising of 360 hours of training. The institution also offers a distance learning program and the students receive onsite training twice a year.
Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine's massage diploma program is approved by the Massage Association of Alberta as well as by the Association of Holistic Practitioners and Massage Therapists. The course materials are exclusive, as they have been complied by Dr.Cheng.
The instructors are highly qualified and all chief instructors have a PhD in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. The curriculum has been adapted from that followed in the five years TCM University training programs in China. The students are offered financial assistance such as student loans to make their education a reality. The students are also offered career planning assistance. The students may also opt to take a study trip to China.
