Profile of Career College/Trade School

EmployAbilities is a benevolent non-profit organization situated in Edmonton, Alberta. It is devoted to endorsing and enhancing employment and learning opportunities for people having any kind of disabilities. It has been operative since 1972, via Community Partnerships and dedicated employees. EmployAbilities was initially known as Edmonton Social Services for the Disabled. A team of disabled citizens acknowledged a requirement to provide an assortment of services to people with disabilities in Edmonton. The services include recreation, housing, employment, and rehabilitation. This, in turn, resulted in the formation of Employment Services for the Physically Handicapped. A Volunteer Board of Directors that encouraged significant employment for people with disabilities governed this.

EmployAbilities provides two Alberta Certified training programs: Basic Skills Foundations and Call Centre Training. It hires skilled Employment Counsellors who provide career counselling, resume and cover letter critiques, job preparation, and employment followup. EmployAbilities offers services like employment equity information, wage subsidy programs and services, and diversity information sessions. EmployAbilities encourage and augment employment and/or learning opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

EmployAbilities programs are endorsed by Alberta Community Development, Persons with Developmental Disabilities, and Alberta Association of Rehabilitation Centres. These associations scrutinize the programs, policies, and procedures of service agencies to guarantee that they meet the peak standards of care of the people they serve. Physically disabled people go through tremendous emotional upheaval. Thus, they need to be treated with care.
