Hot Sole Music Inc. is just 30 minutes from downtown Vancouver and is located in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. It was incorporated in 1994. Hot Sole Music Inc. began to offer Canada’s only semiprivate studio engineering program, the Audio Engineering Program, AEP. The AEP Program is registered and accredited with the PCTIA and was the first Recording Arts Program to be accredited by the PCTIA.
The AEP offered by Hot Sole Music Inc. has gained the reputation of being one of the best quality yet affordable programs. AEP programs train graduates to be able to successfully assist a first audio engineer and the producer. The training can help the students secure jobs as assistant or second audio engineers.
The class size is very small: A maximum of only 3 students are taught in each class. Students need to be above 19 years of age and have a high school diploma to qualify for the AEP. As a result of the highly personalized nature of the training plus the fact that they spend almost 70% of their time in the studio gaining practical experience rather than in theory classes, the students can find employment prospects to be very bright.
The AEP consists of 240 hours of instructional time and 160 hours of lab time, spread over a 5-month period. Graduates have to get above 90% to successfully complete the program, which is ideal because it combines the best of two worlds, college and commercial studio.
