Ican College is based in the province of Ontario and offers students a range of diploma courses in various fields of healthcare. Previously known as Mican Business College, it is an accredited Private Career College and was the proud winner of the Small Business of the Year Award Silver in 2000. The college is also a member of the Greater Ottawa Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Career Colleges and the Partners-for-Jobs with City of Ottawa. Ican College offers diplomas in medical and dental office administration, early childcare assistance, ward clerk training, personal support worker and a medical terminology course that is available as a correspondence course. All students are welcome to avail free internet access and free parking at the college. Ican College offers eligible students financial aid through specialized payment plans, bank loans, RRSP and employment insurance. The college also offers placement assistance to all its graduates. A placement officer is always onsite and helps students with interview techniques, resume writing and developing job search skills. Work placements that are arranged by the college are specially assigned, depending on the suitability of the student and the job. Ican College has given a number of students, on-the-job training at a number of healthcare facilities, clinics, daycares, preschools and private medical practices. Ican College works together with local companies and businesses at no extra cost in order to meet the needs of both the student and the employer.
