Profile of Career College/Trade School

The JC Institute was established in Vancouver in 1978. It is located in the historic Gastown area. John Casablancas and AXIS Training Systems have teamed up to offer a Hair Art Design Program. This is a first-of-its-kind program. It is the only accredited program in BC that is approved for 500-hour curriculum, which takes approximately 6 months to complete. This enables students to qualify at a faster pace for a career in the fashion industry.

The JC Institute Hair Art Design Program is a full-time program comprising 20 hours a week and students need at least a Grade 12 certificate or have a mature student status. The schedules are convenient and suit the students with time constraints, such as Monday to Friday, 4 hours/day, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm; 1:15 pm to 5:15 pm or 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm or Monday from 5:30pm to 9:30 pm and Saturday/Sunday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. A maximum of 15 students per class ensures personalized training.

The JC Institute offers other programs such as the Makeup Artistry Diploma Program of 34 weeks duration and maximum class size of 14 students and the Fashion Arts Diploma program of 43 weeks duration and a maximum of 20 students.

The JC Institute is well known in the fashion industry, and their programs are thus recognized, opening up numerous exciting job opportunities for its graduates.
