Needful Information On Its Courses
Clive McNichol, President and CEO, Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre started the Nursing Attendant/Health Care Aide Program in September 2000. It is recognized by the government of Alberta as a program infusing necessary skills in students required in such profession. The 22-week long program includes theoretical instructions, lab sessions and practicum experience in a Home Care setting.
On conclusion, students will be able to work as Nursing Attendants in health care centers, public health agencies, nursing homes, primary care clinics etc. They will implement delegated tasks and provide assistance with childcare, palliative care and household management activities. If you are interested then you need to have Grade 10 or equivalent education, be eighteen years or more, clear criminal and medical record.
To become a Sterile Processor, at least high school diploma is a must. Security clearance and immunizations are other pre-requisites. The course of Sterile Processing Technician is a full time seventeen weeks long program. It is suitable for those who are interested in technical or lab work. Successful students are provided job placements. Besides, there is always a demand for Sterile Processors who are willing to work in shifts.
Both the courses will enable the students to get CPR level “C” certification along with a program certificate.
