If you have any interest in hair styling then this is the place for you to be. Oakville College may have just the program for you. The College has its intake of new students every month. The full time program here consists of ten months of classes and practical training at the salon in the college itself. It also has intake every month for the part time program that lasts for about twenty months.
The College develops individualized programs for different students based on the classroom participation. This is done for both theory and practical applications in the curriculum of hair styling. The students have a great time participating in their in-house hair salon which allows them to practice on live models or customers as we call them. This course also integrates the basic computer education in the salon management component part of the business. Students are required to develop their own business cards, brochures as well as business cards.
Though the beginning of the students is as a class, the classes are so designed that they meet the specific requirement of the students. You can choose from a wide array of programs like the Hairstyling Diploma Program, Advanced Hairstyling Certificate, Indian Head Massage Certificate, Color Basics Certificate, Waxing Certificate etc. The College is registered under the Private Colleges Act, 2006. It is also fully bonded. There are various types of instructions used – correspondence, class videos, self- directed learning, take-home observation videos, tapes and books, progress report and written tests as well as training approval.
