The Ontario Dental Education Institute has proven itself one of the areas best departments of oral health sciences. They are renowned for providing excellent research as well as fostering leadership motives in their students.
On November 30, 2005 the Commission on Dental Accreditation has granted the status of accreditation Eligible to the ODEI Dental Hygiene program. The ODEI is also a registered as a Private Career College under the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. The University offers many courses, some of which have an added emphasis on technology and clinical practice. They are well stocked with educated, qualified and experienced professionals who are specialists in their specific fields.
The employment prospects that follow a course at ODEI are pretty good. A study showed that estimated 92% of the students are employed at an hourly wage of $34. Dental hygienists enjoy the opportunities of part time employment and also working in various sectors.
The ODEI program is similar in structure to most of the Canadian Colleges and Universities. It is generally 18 months long and is divided into 4 consecutive terms. The terms all consist of 16 weeks.
