Carpentry (Pre-Employment) - Nunavut Arctic College
Nunavut Arctic College's 1-year Carpentry Pre-Employment Certificate program equips students with 'the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to proceed with apprenticeships in the carpentry trade.' Graduates will be eligible to use each hour of classroom and practical work in the program as a credit hour towards trades certification;' that is, towards an apprenticeship.

Nunavut Arctic College offers 8 trades preparatory programs, including Carpentry, Cooking, Drywall and Taping, Flooring, Interior Trim and Carpentry, Millwright, Plumbing, and Small Motor Repair, designed to 'provide students with practical skills to develop expertise in various sectors.' The Programs are primarily designed to ready residents of the North 'for employment in industry as trades helpers or to enter our pre-apprenticeship programs.' Each of the aforementioned programs range from 20 to 120 days in duration.
