Carpentry Programs, Courses and Degrees in Saskatchewan

  • Construction Tri-Trades - Carlton Trail Regional College
    The Construction Tri-Trades applied certificate program at Carlton Trail Regional College, offered in cooperation with the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST), provides students with fundamental carpentry, drywall installation and paint/finishes application skills. The Program 'will be custom-tailored to meet students needs' and will prepare learners for the standards for trade training as established by the Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission.

  • Carpentry Level 1 Apprenticeship - Carlton Trail Regional College
    Carlton Trail Regional College's Carpentry Level 1 Apprenticeship, offered in partnership with the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST), provides students with the first level of in-class apprenticeship training. Once the Program at Carleton is completed, if the student is to complete his/her apprenticeship training in Saskatchewan, he/she must enroll in SIAST's Carpentry Apprenticeship program.

  • Women's Carpentry - Carlton Trail Regional College - Watrous Campus
    Carlton Trail Regional College's Women's Carpentry program is designed to expose women to the basic skills and knowledge of carpentry. The Program is not so much intended as career enhancing or enabling as much as it is a short introduction to carpentry. Students will typically engage in small- or medium-sized projects like a deacon's bench, folding chair, stand, or a project of the student's choosing.

  • Pre-Employment Carpentry - Cumberland Regional College
    Cumberland Regional College, in partnership with the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology, offers the 30-week Pre-Employment Carpentry program. The Program will provide learners with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required 'to work in the residential and commercial construction industry and/or related industries,' and will cover levels 1 and 2 training 'of the apprenticeship program.'

  • Pre-Trades Carpentry - Cypress Hills Regional College
    Cypress Hills Regional College's Pre-Trades Carpentry provides learners with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills of the first level of apprenticeship training in accordance with the standards established by the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC).

  • Pre-Trades Carpentry - North West Regional College
    North West Regional College, in partnership with the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST), offers the Pre-Trades Carpentry program 'for individuals not currently employed in the carpentry trade.' The Program provide learners with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills the first level of apprenticeship training in accordance with the standards established by the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC).

  • Carpentry Level I - IV - Northlands College
    An apprenticeship is a method of learning a trade through a combination of periods of in-class, technical/theoretical education and periods of paid, on-the-job training. In Saskatchewan, completing an apprenticeship will take about 4 years. Northlands College's Carpentry Level I - IV apprenticeship program, which is offered in partnership with Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology, fulfills the in-class, technical/theoretical requirements for an apprenticeship program.

  • Pre-Employment Carpentry - Prairie West Regional College
    Prairie West Regional College, in partnership with the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST), offers a Pre-Employment Carpentry program geared towards providing students with the knowledge and skills in basic carpentry to pursue entry-level employment and/or an apprenticeship in carpentry. Upon successful completion of the Program, graduates will receive a SIAST Certificate and will be eligible for advanced credit towards an apprenticeship program.

  • Construction Worker Preparation - Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies
    Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies' Construction Worker Preparation program will provide participants with 'the basic skills needed for entry-level work on a residential or industrial construction site,' including the basics of the construction industry, construction academics, site safety, and use of manual tools. Students will also 'have an opportunity to connect their learning to the workplace and develop potential employment connections.'

  • Basic Carpentry Apprenticeship - Level 1 - Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies
    Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies' Basic Carpentry Apprenticeship - Level 1 program combines 'classroom activities and considerable hands-on shop work' to equip learners with all requirements of the Carpentry, Level One program as outlined by the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission' (SATCC). The Institute will provide 'additional academic and trade-specific upgrading to supplement the program.'

  • Carpentry (Woodland Campus) - Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology
    Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology's Woodland Campus's 30-week Certificate in Carpentry prepares students to pursue entry-level employment and/or an apprenticeship in the carpentry profession and/or related fields. The Program will cover the first 2 levels of a carpentry apprenticeship program; therefore, graduates will be eligible to pursue an apprenticeship program with advanced standing.

  • Carpentry (Palliser Campus) - Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology
    Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology's Palliser Campus's 30-week Certificate in Carpentry prepares students to pursue entry-level employment and/or an apprenticeship in the carpentry profession and/or related fields. The Program will cover the first 2 levels of a carpentry apprenticeship program; therefore, graduates will be eligible to pursue an apprenticeship program with advanced standing.

  • Carpentry Applied Certificate - Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology
    The Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology's 20-week Applied Certificate in Carpentry equips students with the basic knowledge and skills to pursue entry-level employment and/or an apprenticeship in the carpentry profession and/or related fields. The Program 'provides the basics of Level I apprenticeship and prepares' students 'for the standards set by the Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (ATCC).'

  • Carpenter Applied Certificate - Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology
    An apprenticeship is a method of learning a trade through a combination of periods of in-class, technical/theoretical education and periods of paid, on-the-job training. In Saskatchewan, completing a carpentry apprenticeship, both in-class and on-the-job training, will take about 4 years. Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology's Carpenter Apprenticeship Training fulfills the in-class requirements of an apprenticeship and will be comprised 7 week-blocks, 1 per year of the apprenticeship.

  • Architectural and Interior Technologies - Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology
    The Architectural and Interior Technologies diploma program at Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST) will develop the student's knowledge and skills in 'the properties and function of construction materials, criteria and methods of building construction and design, preparing construction documents, and contract administration.' The Program consists of '76 weeks (five academic semesters) and three four-month work terms,' one work term per year.

  • Log Building - Floor and Wall Construction - Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology
    The Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology's 14-week Log Building - Floor and Wall Construction applied certificate program equpis students with the knowledge and skills 'needed to complete the floor and wall phases of log construction.' The Program is provided 'as a special project through off-campus programming' and the learning method is based on work training.

  • Log Building - Roof Construction, Interior Framing and Finishing - Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology
    The Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology's 6-week Log Building - Roof Construction, Interior Framing and Finishing applied certificate program equips students with the knowledge and skills 'needed to complete the roof construction, interior framing and finishing phases of log construction.' The Program is provided 'as a special project through off-campus programming' and the learning method is based on work training.

  • Architectural and Building Technologies - Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology
    The Architectural and Building Technologies diploma program at Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST) will develop the student's knowledge and skills in 'the properties and function of construction materials, criteria and methods of building construction and design, preparing construction documents, and contract administration.' Upon completion of at least 2 'years of suitable industrial experience, graduates are eligible for membership in the Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (SASTT) as Applied Science Technologists.'

  • Pre-Trades Carpentry - Southeast Regional College
    Southeast Regional College's 20-week Pre-Trades Carpentry applied certificate equips students with the knowledge and skills equivalent to Level I of a carpentry apprenticeship program in Saskatchewan and prepares participants 'for the standards set by the Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (ATCC).' Graduates of the Program may pursue entry-level employment in carpentry or related areas and/or an apprenticeship. Graduates who pursue the latter may 'be able to apply to the ATCC to receive credit for Level I technical training' of their respective apprenticeship programs.
