Justice Studies Diploma: Correctional Studies Specialization - Bow Valley College The Justice Studies Diploma at Bow Valley College is a two-year (four semester) career program that allows someone to specialize in youth justice, law enforcement, or correctional studies. All Justice Studies Diploma students take the same set of courses in Year 1 and take courses specific to their specialization in Year 2. Subjects in the Correctional Studies Specialization include Correctional Law, Correctional Casework and Counselling, Special Needs Offenders, Criminal Justice, Abnormal Psychology, and Correctional Methods and Administration. The Correctional Studies Specialization will prepare someone for a career in a correctional institution, community corrections, non-profit correctional services or probation. They will gain marketable experience during their correctional studies practicum placements.
