General Studies (Criminology courses) - University College of the Fraser Valley

The University College of the Fraser Valley's General Studies (Criminology courses) option provides an opportunity for interested students not enrolled in a Criminology or Criminal Justice program 'to take criminology courses.' This option may be of particular interest to learners 'who are exploring various educational and career options.' Criminology courses that are available without pre-requisites are primarily at the 100 and 200 level of study and include topics such as Introduction to Criminology, Introduction to Corrections, Introduction to the Criminal Justice System, Sociological Explanations of Criminal and Deviant Behaviour. Psychological Explanations of Criminal and Deviant Behaviour, the Administration of Justice in Canada, Academic and Professional Development, Philosophy of Law, Introduction to Canadian Law and Legal Institutions: A Criminal Justice Perspective, Introduction to Law Enforcement, Peace Officer Use of Force, Youth Crime and the Youth Justice System in Canada, Indigenous Peoples, Crime and Criminal Justice, Women, Crime and Criminal Justice, Directed Studies, Selected Topics, Theory and Practice of Restorative Justice, Criminal Law, Customs and Immigration Law, Problem Management Skills for Criminal Justice Intervention, and the Theory and Practice of Sexual Assault Investigations.
