With a broad range of staff experience and state-of-the-art instrumentation, we provide cross-analytical solutions for the Environmental, Energy, Mining, Transportation, Industrial, Agri-food and Life Sciences sectors. Our Calgary Office is seeking motivated individuals to join our Inorganics Team.


Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the supervision and direction of Laboratory Analysts in performing lab duties as required. This includes responsibility for recruitment of new employees, setting objectives, evaluating performance & expectations, working jointly with employees in the development of their career path, ensuring that adequate training is provided.
  • Review all inorganic data and QC generated by the lab.
  • Coordinate the method development of any laboratory procedures deemed necessary for the expansion of the current scope of analysis capabilities.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation.
  • Communicate general laboratory issues to the Operations Manager through weekly / monthly lab meetings and day-to-day activities.
  • Develop and maintain a positive work environment for employees.
  • Provide technical assistance to staff.

  • Experience and Qualifications

    Qualifications

  • BSc or technical diploma in Chemistry or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an inorganic environment. Hands on experience with relevant laboratory instrumentation required (some examples include: colorimetric, IC, auto-titrators, ICPMS, ICPOES, CVAA, etc..).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience at a senior level in a leadership role
  • Excellent understanding of the quality requirements of ISO certification
  • Skills: problem solving, communication, coaching, organization, time management, and recruitment
  • Commitment to the production of accurate and timely results as our clients have come to rely on us for
