Overview

The Technical Services Engineer is responsible for providing world class assistance to customers and channel partners in the usage of our products, as well as for leveraging our knowledge and relationships to assist in growing our software business in line with our corporate vision and performance expectations. Activities may include combinations of customer support and other services, listed below, in proportions that are consistent with business needs, with the individual's skills and interests, and with the individual's availability: Product Support, Customer Training, Key Customer Development, Marketing Assistance and Business Development, Sales Assistance, Business Unit Assistance, and Billable Services


Responsibilities

Product Support: Support customers promptly and effectively in order to improve our customers' productivity and satisfaction with ANSYS simulation products.

  • Customer Training: Train customers on the usage of ANSYS simulation products to increase their proficiency, independence, and success in simulating engineering problems with ANSYS software.
  • Key Customer Development: Consistently improve our understanding of our customers' workflow and technical needs and communicate new opportunities and risks to Sales; proactively work to grow the software usage by demonstrating new solutions based on the ANSYS vision and software.
  • Business Development/Marketing Assistance: Demonstrate the value of the ANSYS vision and software to the marketplace through collaborations on marketing campaigns and business initiatives in order to grow new markets
  • Sales Assistance: Demonstrate the value of the ANSYS vision and software to sales prospects through collaboration with Sales in order to grow sales volume in existing markets
  • Business Unit Assistance: Collaborate with the Business Units to improve ANSYS software products and the customers' experience using these products.
  • Billable Services: Provide consulting services to enhance the value and usage of our software and to drive increased sales of ANSYS simulation products.
  • Other duties as assigned Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to implement numerical models to obtain practical engineering solutions to difficult problems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and to communicate effectively
  • Must display ability to work independently, as well as with others in a geographically diverse team environment
  • Experience with multidisciplinary simulation is a plus
  • Experience working collaboratively with sales and marketing personnel is a plus
  • Experience with CAD software such as Solidworks, Pro/Engineer, Inventor is a plus

  • Experience and Qualifications

    PhD in Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical Engineering or closely related field. MS + 3 years industrial experience related to fluid mechanics and computational fluid dynamics is also considered.

  • Minimum 1 year experience in the use of ANSYS CFD software or other commercial CFD software
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in the oil & gas industry
  • Must have excellent verbal and written English skills
  • Must have excellent presentation skills
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% time
