Overview

Chris Mechanical Services Ltd is growing. We have an immediate opening for Journeyman Millwrights who are experienced, self-starters, with a high level of integrity. The ideal candidate has the ability to multi-task and understands the pressures of manufacturing timelines. The ability to use judgement, effective communication, and problem solving skills are required on a daily basis. Hours of Work: -7:00 am to 3:30 pm work day M-F with flexibility for the possibility of short term evening shifts and/or overtime for special projects Salary and benefits: -Salary is commensurate with education and experience -We also offer an excellent and comprehensive benefits package and profit sharing plan for employees Chris Mechanical Services Limited is a well established manufacturing and associated services company providing a comprehensive array of specialized or customized products, equipment and services for the oil & gas focused on the coiled tubing sector, agricultural and food processing industries.


Responsibilities

Duties include:

  • following company procedures to provide quality service to customers
  • determining dimensions and tolerances appropriate for specific situations
  • contributing to achieve project completion requirements by working to meet tight manufacturing timelines
  • able to proficiently weld carbon steels, stainless steels and aluminum
  • preparing working sketches and/or working from engineering drawings
  • maintaining equipment and tooling in peak condition
  • ability to effectively troubleshoot issues with equipment
  • understanding of the work order traveler job information process
  • able to work with minimal supervision and mentor apprentices
  • operating overhead crane
  • maintaining an inventory of replacement parts
  • other related duties as required

  • Experience and Qualifications

    Qualifications:

  • journeyman millwright certification (Alberta or Interprovincial)
  • experienced in the operation of machines, mills, lathes and other equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • experienced in troubleshooting equipment issues
  • experienced in working with and able to review or interpret engineering drawings
  • ability to mentor others and team player
  • effective communicator
