Overview

An active and dynamic young woman who has a physical and developmental disability would like a support person to accompany her to activities which will enable her to be a valued member of her community. Some of her interests include music, dance, swimming, computers, and social justice. Relationships are very important to her. The support person will bring ideas and plan with her family, support network, and friends. This person would also have access to Family Service Toronto staff as a resource. Location: Family home near Bayview and Eglinton as well as her apartment in the St. Lawrence market area. Travelling to various community locations. Hours: One to three 4-5 hour shifts per week. Days and times are flexible, taking into account your availability and the availability of the other staff. Start Date: As soon as possible Wages: Starting at $14 per hour (training wage is $13 per hour) Qualifications: Flexible, creative, and able to work independently. Demonstrate a valued attitude towards people with disabilities and a willingness to advocate for this individual's participation in community life Be comfortable with personal care Have English communication skills-verbal, written and email.
