Overview The Executive Director (ED) for the Lakeland Prevent Alcohol and Risk Related Trauma in Youth (P.A.R.T.Y.) Program Association ensures the high quality delivery of a dynamic full-day community based youth education and health promotion program in local hospitals in Bonnyville and Cold Lake. The ED reports to and works with the board of directors and sub-committees as required. The overall program focuses on preventing injuries and trauma, covering a wide range of behaviours typically relevant to youth, such as seatbelt use, helmet use, alcohol and other drug use, drinking and driving, ATV and snowmobile riding, partying, etc. It is therefore important that the ED enjoys and has demonstrated knowledge/experience working with youth in their community and has experience or formal training in education/health promotion/injury prevention.

Responsibilities Supporting two teams of professionals, community volunteers, and other individuals in delivering core programming Acting Presentation Coordinator for Bonnyville P.A.R.T.Y. Program Filling in for or arranging to otherwise cover for presenters in schools and hospitals Scheduling overall operations for core programming and outreach projects as required Developing and delivering outreach programming Overseeing and doing screening and training of volunteers and presenters Program evaluation and monitoring Maintaining files and records, issuing tax receipts, etc. as required Annual and other reporting Generating yearly and project budgets Operating within budgets Securing funding for core and outreach programming Attending meetings and regularly communicating with the Board of Directors Upholding and demonstrating adherence to national and local program standards Arranging and participating in professional development and training opportunities Representing the program to the public, liaising with community, creating displays, and overseeing the website Other duties as required

Experience and Qualifications Must be a self-starter with a passion for youth and community Training and experience in health promotion/education Strong communication and leadership skills including the ability to work closely with a variety of professionals in education, law enforcement, and health care Excellent presentation/facilitation skills including ability to use equipment and software (e.g., PowerPoint) Highly organized Strong administrative and budgeting skills, including securing grant applications Demonstrated cross-cultural awareness and skills (e.g., aboriginal awareness training or experience) High proficiency with electronic communication, office applications (MSWord, Publisher, Excel), and graphics applications Healthcare background or familiarity with hospitals and protocols preferred Criminal record check required Vehicle is necessary as considerable local travel is required
