Overview

Learning Supports Coordinator Victoria BC Salary $63,833.99 to $73,013.78 annually, plus 3.3% Temporary Market Adjustment The Learning Division plays a central role in facilitating the renewal and transformation of BC's K-12 education system through personalized learning. The Division and the Branch exemplify personalized learning principles (e.g., cooperation, creativity, innovation, social responsibility) in our work and in how we engage with others. The Division's ongoing areas of responsibility include Aboriginal Education, Curriculum and Assessment, Learning Supports and Early Years, Graduation, Skills and Distance Learning, Integrated Services and Safe Schools, and French Programs. This position will propose, develop, and support new strategic directions for the design and implementation of K-12 provincial learning supports frameworks and programs (including programs and services for students with special needs), based on a thorough knowledge of current policy and practice, emerging priorities, government strategic directions, as well as jurisdictional and academic research. Provide leadership and expertise related to current K-12 BC learning supports programs and system-wide policy. Consult and collaborate with educators and education partners to evaluate and recommend strategies related to educational and social outcomes for students.


Experience and Qualifications

In order to be considered for this position, your resume must clearly show that you have the following education and experience: Education - University Undergraduate degree in Education with course work in a related field plus 7 years experience as specified below; or Masters degree in Education plus 5 years experience as specified below. - Preference may be given to applicants who are eligible for qualification as a teacher in BC. Experience - Experience teaching in the field of K-12 special education; or equivalent experience working with teachers and other educators in the field of K-12 special education. - Experience in managing, planning, and organizing complex large-scale projects. - Experience selecting, managing, facilitating, and leading high-profile professional teams comprised of educational stakeholders. - Experience working on numerous and diverse projects including developing content for project-related service contracts to achieve business goals. - Experience in effective project management; planning and supervision of projects. - Preference may be given to candidates with experience as a School Psychologist.
