Overview

This is full-time, permanent, benefited role that is based from our head office at 31 Hopewell Way NE, Calgary, Alberta, T3J 4V7 JOB DESCRIPTION: Experienced paralegal sought for fast-paced, exciting work environment. This position participates as a team member in our Real Estate practice group for commercial real estate transactions. This role reports directly to the Vice President, Real Estate & Franchise Development.


Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Extensive drafting and reviewing of commercial leases, the initiating documents of a lease (letters of intent and offers to lease), and reviewing and drafting of all ancillary documents in relation to commercial leases.
  • drafting and reviewing franchise agreements
  • Proven ability to conduct in-depth analysis and make appropriate legal wording changes.
  • Ability to work closely in a group setting or independently when required.
  • Personally type and edit track changes to finalize all approved leasing and other legal documents.
  • Other responsibilities as client needs dictate

  • Experience and Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate or appropriate job-related experience required.
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a commercial real estate paralegal.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional drafting, proof-reading and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, plan and take initiative to accomplish objectives in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a team player while effectively and efficiently using company resources. OTHER KEY ATTRIBUTES
