SaskPower is currently searching for an Engineer, Communications, Protection & Control Planning to join our Planning, Environment and Regulatory Affairs area. Our ideal candidate will be energetic and able to share engineering expertise and knowledge to develop plans which meet telecommunication, protection (exclusive of 25kV), control (SCADA) and electronic event recording requirements of the transmission and distribution systems to ensure their safe, reliable, secure and economic operation. This position will also plan for related smart grid and operational cybersecurity applications.


Experience and Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have a university degree in electrical or electronics engineering, and will be eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS). Several years of experience in planning or designing telecommunications, protection and control facilities or other relevant utility experience will be considered a highly desirable asset. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills and have the ability to lead projects in a changing environment. Candidates under consideration will be required to participate in an assessment process consisting of any/all of the following: interview, abilities test, case study and/or presentation.
