Overview

The Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant will be a member of the Company's accounting department whose main responsibility is to handle all accounting and payroll duties. Also provides back up administrative support for the Sales Manager and Office Administrator including general office and course coordination duties.


Responsibilities

Specific Skills (Accounting): Using Simply Accounting to maintain general ledgers and financial statements, Post journal entries, Prepare trial balance of books, Reconcile accounts to month end, Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports, Track sales.

  • Please note that a standard Simply Accounting and Excel test will be administered to all candidates being considered for this position. Specific Skills (General Administrative Duties): General office organization including organization and maintenance of records, library and filing system, Send, receive and administer faxes and email, Process incoming and outgoing mail including courier shipments, Help maintain customer records in computerized database, Preparing course material, Daily office and room preparation and cleanup during course weeks, Respond to student requests for assistance in a prompt and courteous manner.

  • Experience and Qualifications

    Education: Completion of university or college Experience: 1 - 5 years Languages: Speak English, Read English and Write English fluently; Bilingual (French) is an asset. Business Equipment and Computer Applications required: Windows, General office equipment, Electronic mail, Spreadsheet software: Excel, Accounting software: Simply Accounting, Internet browser. Essential Skills: Reading, Writing and Speaking English fluently, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Meticulous attention to detail, Strong analytical skills, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Must have a consistent willingness to learn. Security and Safety: Basic criminal record security check. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Repetitive tasks.
