Overview

Monday May 7, 2012 : The 13th Annual UNICEF Mother's Day Luncheon and Fashion Show brings together grandmothers, mothers, daughters and business and community members to raise money and awareness for UNICEF. Highlights of the luncheon include a special guest speaker and a fashion show hosted by Polo Park Shopping Centre. Every day, 21,000 children die from preventable causes like malnutrition, pneumonia, and lack of safe water. That's 21,000 children whose lives can be saved each day through simple, proven health solutions. The UNICEF Mother's Day Luncheon supports UNICEF's work around the world to reach vulnerable children with life-saving interventions. Mother's Day Luncheon Volunteers will assist with various donor care and special event facilitation tasks at this very important annual event. Key Benefits: Mother's Day Luncheon Volunteers have the opportunity to interact with UNICEF staff, witness this wonderful event and presentations. Volunteers will strengthen their event facilitation skills and meet other dedicated UNICEF volunteers. Time and Location Commitment: Monday, May 7th from 10:00 am - 3:30pm St. Charles Country Club 100 Country Club Blvd Winnipeg, MB R3K 1Z3 Accountability: This position is accountable to the Special Events Coordinator who will be present at the event. Responsibilities

  • Assist with table set up and displays
  • Auction spotting assistance
  • Help promote our Survival Gifts products and make sales at the event
  • Collect donations/payments of Survival Gifts
  • Other event related tasks as necessary as they arise
  • Assist with clean-up and take-down once the event is complete

  • Experience and Qualifications

  • Friendly and outgoing with strong inter-personal skills
  • Experience at fundraising events or in sales
  • Takes initiative and offers to help wherever needed
  • Works well both independently and effectively on a team
  • Daytime Availability, and access to a car
