Undergraduate Law Degrees

Academically, at the undergraduate level, the School offers a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B), with concentration options in Tax Law, International, Comparative and Transnational Law, Litigation, Dispute Resolution, and the Administration of Justice, 4 joint degrees, and a General Certificate Program in Refugee and Migration Studies. The 4 joint programs enable the LL.B to be combined with a Droit Civil, offered in collaboration with the Université de Montréal, Faculté de Droit, Juris Doctor (J.D.), taught in partnership with the New York University School of Law, Master of Business Administration (MBA), offered in cooperation with the Schulich School of Business, or Master in Environmental Studies (MES), conjointly offered with York University's Faculty of Environmental Studies.

Additionally, upper year LL.B. students have the opportunity to choose from over 125 courses and seminars annually, engage in an international exchange of 1 to 2 terms in 1 of over 39 partnered institutions in 17 countries, take an upper year or graduate course in another faculty at York, or undertake research with a full-time faculty member. Students who want to study abroad but who may not be able to or may not desire to engage in 'a term or year long exchange program' may participate in a Summer education opportunity. The latter includes internships and placements, usually at an international aganecy, such as the UN Headquaters in New York, and exchange opportunities, including the International Law Spring Program at the International Study Centre at Herstmonceux Castle in the UK in collaboration with Queen's University. Upon graduation from a major program, Osgoode law students are eligible to spend a year teaching law, in English and for pay, at the Southwest University in Chongqing, China for an academic year.

Graduate Law Degrees

At the graduate level, the School affords 2 major programs including the Master of Laws (LLM), including a part-time option, and Doctor of Philosophy in Law (Ph.D.) as well as 4 graduate diplomas. The latter may be pursued concurrently with a graduate degree and include German and European Studies, Health Services and Policy Research, International and Security Studies, and Refugee and Migration Studies. Graduate students are also afforded the opportunity to garner direct teaching experience at the School, or possibly in another faculty in a course related to law, with the most exceptional students being eligible for adjunct faculty positions.
