Athabasca University's Master of Business Administration for Certified General Accountants (MBA-CGA) is a 24-month program, delivered primarily online, designed for the professional CGA who is a member 'in good standing' of his/her 'provincial CGA affiliate' who aspires to enhance his/her accounting and financial expertise. The Program will expose students to a fundamental core of business and management basics and disciplines, with special focus on those areas of interest to CGAs, while allowing participants to pursue a generalized MBA or concentrate their respective programs in Information Technology Management or Project Management. The successful applicant to the MBA-CGA will be eligible for 'advanced standing in certain courses and transfer credit for certain Phase Three electives' in whichever MBA option he/she chooses. The Program's finale consists of an applied project on a specific topic that the student chooses in consultation with 'an academic supervisor;' this project affords the student 'the opportunity to apply the program's key concepts to a real-life business situation of particular interest to' the student. |
