Profile of John Molson School of Business - Concordia University

The John Molson School of Business at Concordia University at Montreal, Quebec, provides Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the world's primary business school accrediting institution, recognized educational opportunities in Commerce, Business Administration, and Management. Currently afforded by the School of Business at Concordia University are over 21 programs including 5 undergraduate programs, 5 Master's programs, 1 doctorate in Business Administration, 5 graduate certificates, and 5 graduate diplomas. Among the aforementioned offerings are unique graduate-level options in Aviation Management comprised of 2 Masters of Business Administration (MBA), a diploma, and a certificate.

Though an emphasis on the 'case study' approach to teaching, each student is to acquire an in depth understanding of the multitude of potential real-world situations both within the general business world and the world of the specific business area in which the student may choose to major. Furthermore, students are to develop the abilities to become effective and efficient business professionals by learning to become critical thinkers, coordinate, plan, lead, meet deadlines, deal with conflict and pressure, make tough but well-informed, intelligent decisions, and foresee and understand the potential ethical, political, and social consequences of given decisions. Renowned for its global and cross-cultural perspectives on business, the School of Business at Concordia University maintains strong ties with the business community in Quebec with which it often consults when creating new courses and programs and to ensure that the content of existing courses and programs is relevant and up-to-date. As a result of these links to the corporate community, students at the School have traditionally had ready access to business leaders for educational and professional purposes.

Additionally, students have access to an extensive network of career planning services including regular on-campus recruiting events by national and multinational corporations, including job postings, networking cocktails, seminars, and the annual Business Career Fair, an online rTsumT bank where students may post their rTsumTs for employers to view, and a Graduate Profile Book, which is produced and distributed by the School to employers. The John Molson School of Business also has 3 specialized research and educational facilities including the International Centre for Aviation Management Education and Research (ICAMER), the Entrepreneurship Institute for the Development of Minority Communities (EIDMC), and the Centre for Small Business and Entrepreneurial Studies (CSBES).
