Athabasca University's Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Energy Concentration is a 24-months program designed for individuals wanting to enhance their respective managerial abilities and career opportunities in the energy industry. The MBA is offered via a partnership between the University's Centre for Innovation Management and the University of Alberta's School of Business, and provides students the opportunity to profit from the latter's 'academic expertise in the energy field' through three elective courses which 'explore current industry issues and opportunities.' Through an emphasis on developing students' analytical, leadership, managerial, interpersonal, and strategic organization skills and abilities and understanding of 'the complexities of the energy industry, including challenges and opportunities in Alberta, Canada, and around the world,' the MBA seeks to impart to students knowledge that can be immediately applied to their respective organizations. Individuals who are accepted into the MBA with Energy Concentration will be enrolled in Athabasca University's general Executive MBA which students will tailor to their interests in Energy in Phases 2 and 3 of their respective programs after successful completion of the 'six core courses' and 'comprehensive examination' of Phase 1.
