Founded on the principles of Development of Teaching Excellence, Exceptional Research Training, Focus on Managerial Relevance, International Focus, and Sound Theoretical Foundation, the PhD in Business Administration program at the Richard Ivey School of Business at University of Western Ontario aims 'to develop the individual's analytic, research and teaching ability and prepare the person for a career in university teaching and research.' The Program consists of 3 Phases. Phase 1 will provide students with essential training in international business, 'the philosophical foundations of management thought,' research methodology, and statistics. Phase 2 will enable students to major in an area of specialization chosen among Finance, General Management, Information Systems, Management Science, Managerial Accounting, Marketing, Operations Management, and Organizational Behaviour. The final Phase will require students to research, write, and defend a dissertation/thesis. |
