The DeGroote School of Business of McMaster University offers a Ph.D. in Science Systems, a research oriented program 'designed to prepare highly motivated and capable individuals for making significant advances in Management Science/Systems (MS/S) knowledge' as well as to further their abilities to develop and apply 'analysis and modeling techniques to the solution of management problems.' The Program, which consists of 'a foundation of knowledge, the Management Science/Systems major, and thesis research,' may be completed in a minimum of 3 years. Successful 'candidates must demonstrate proficiency in various subject areas in business management' and 'in calculus, probability, matrix algebra, statistics and computer programming at a level sufficient for study and research in their chosen MS/S subfield.'
