MBA School @ Royal Military College

Profile of MBA Program
Royal Military College

Although a 'military university', the bilingual Royal Military College of Canada (RMC), located in Kingston, Ontario, offers its unique education not only to members of the Canadian military but also to Canadian civilians and international learners from countries with which Canada is allied. Although approaching its education from a military perspective, the RMC is not just for individuals seeking employment in or to further their career in the military because what is taught has applicability within the wider corporate, economic, political, professional, and social worlds. In regards to its business education, for example, the College states that a 'RMC education...gives men and women the professional and personal skills necessary to meet the challenges faced by leaders' by providing learners with the foremost knowledge of business management practices and 'a solid foundation in fundamental business concepts and in those additional skills essential, to achieve clarity and accuracy in situation analysis and problem resolution in logistics resources and services management in a defence, public or private sector environment.'

The RMC's business programs are interdisciplinary and are delivered via its Department of Business Administration which offers a 3-year Bachelor of Arts with a Business Administration concentration, a 4-year Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours and Major options), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), which allows students the option of specialization in General Management or Logistics Management. The latter concentration, a one of a kind offering in Canada, has been developed in conjunction with the Canadian Forces (CF) Logistics Branch and is aimed at studying, analyzing, and comparing, within a logistics framework, the dynamics of finance, human resource and management information technology, and material to ascertain the 'best management practice from a joint military, public, and commercial sector perspective.'
