RUNNER SENDS SHOES TO CUBA

Bethany Janzen, a third-year Kinesiology student and long distance running star for the Western Mustangs, is collecting "previously enjoyed" athletic footwear to send to a community in Placetas, Cuba at the end of July. Janzen had visited Placetas as a high school student with a group to run a day camp for local children. While there, she saw how the youth of the city could benefit from the shoes that Canadians throw away each year. Janzen is a multiple Ontario University Athletics (OUA) medalist in cross country. Janzen can be reached at bjanzen@uwo.ca
