Source: University Relations Office (URO) [newswire] April 19, 2006 At a time when it seems every second headline reflects a religious subtext and interest in the origins of religious beliefs and traditions has never been higher, McGill welcomes religious scholar and prolific author Karen Armstrong. Ms. Armstrong's public lecture, "The Great Transformation — The Beginnings of Our Religious Tradition," based on her most recent book of the same title, will be held Thursday, April 27, at 6:00 pm, in the Leacock Building, 855 Sherbrooke Street West, in room 232. The lecture is sponsored by the Faculty of Religious Studies and the McGill University Bookstore. Ms. Armstrong's books include Muhammed: A Biography of the Prophet, A Short History of Myth and The Battle for God. Following her talk, she will answer questions from the audience.
