August 18, 2006 Source: : http://w3.stu.ca/stu/news.aspx?id=817&returnId=2 Employment Opportunity - Executive Director of University Advancement and Mission Reporting to the President, the Executive Director of University Advancement and Mission provides leadership to enhance relationships and communication with internal and external constituencies consistent with St. Thomas University’s mission and mandate and works to acquire the necessary financial resources to support the University’s strategic priorities. Specifically, the Executive Director plans, organizes, implements and assesses fund-raising initiatives of the University including capital campaigns, major gifts, alumni giving, and planned giving. The Executive Director assists in providing leadership to student recruitment and retention strategies and works with other senior staff to develop and implement a unified communications strategy to contribute toward growth in enrolment and fund-raising. Qualifications for this position include a university degree, preferably at the master’s level; 7 years of progressive leadership experience, 3 at a senior level; and demonstrated success in prospecting, cultivating and closing major gift asks. The successful candidate will also have strong organizational and planning skills; excellent written and oral communication skills and understanding of fund-raising in an educational environment.
