The recital will include selections from Debussy’s Six épigraphes antiques for piano duet, Shostakovich’s Concertino, and Brahms’ Variations on a theme by Joseph Haydn for two pianos, Rachmaninoff’s Valse and Romance for one piano six hands, and Ravel’s two-piano arrangement of his La Valse. This recital launches a two-day piano pedagogy workshop as part of this year’s Festival by the Marsh. Highly respected as a soloist and collaborative pianist, Edmund Dawe has performed in North America, Europe, and Asia. An ECMA nominee, his recordings are heard frequently on CBC regional and national radio broadcasts. Most recently, he performed on Chicago’s "Live from WFMT", and his solo CDs will be featured in upcoming broadcasts of "Reflections from the Keyboard" on New York City’s WQXR, one of North America’s leading classical radio stations. Edmund is also in demand as a clinician, adjudicator, and examiner. Lynn Johnson’s performances have taken her throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe, in an extensive career as a distinguished collaborative pianist. She has been a featured artist in numerous broadcasts with CBC and Radio-Canada. Apart from her long association with Mount Allison University, Lynn maintains a successful music retail business, and is highly regarded as a teacher and adjudicator. David Rogosin’s performance interests are wide-ranging, but chamber music and collaborative performance, including the two-piano repertoire, are areas of predilection. In 2000, he founded the Green Oaks Chamber Ensemble, giving a series of chamber recitals and subsequent return engagements in the United States. A strong analytical penchant and love of contemporary music have also led to a number of lecture-recitals in North America on works by Scriabin, Reich, Dallapiccola, and Messiaen. His most recent solo CD, Incandescence, features the music of Messiaen, Brahms, Bartók and Dallapiccola. David is also active as an examiner, adjudicator, and clinician. There is no admission charge for this concert to which the public is cordially invited. For further information please call 364-2173. —30—
