Better library resources: This fall, you will find improved study spaces in both the Morisset and Health Sciences libraries. The library website received a face-lift to improve access to the wealth of information resources and services available, including a new simplified search to find journal articles. A student mentoring centre is opening in the Morisset Library, joining staff from the Library and Computing Services at the reference desk. Extended hours at Morisset Library begin September 18, allowing you to use the library from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., seven days a week. And new this fall, the library offers laptop loans to help you complete your assignments. Check the library web site to stay up-to-date on library news.

Mentor for Youth Program: The Student Federation of the University of Ottawa (SFUO) has launched an important mentoring program to help the next generation of university students. This program pairs up secondary school youth with university students to help young people overcome obstacles often experienced during the transition into adolescence. By extending Peer Help Centre services to the secondary school community, peer mentors provide youth with academic, social and emotional support and guidance. The SFUO also has a long-existing peer help centre for university students.
