University of Ottawa community gears up for the return of students and 101 Week

OTTAWA, August 21, 2006 — The beginning of September marks the end of summer and the beginning of school for over 32,000 uOttawa students. Each year, during 101 Week, the University and the graduate and undergraduate student federations create a special week of social and academic events to help new students ease into their new home and returning students celebrate the return of friends and new challenges. There are several media opportunities for coverage during the week.

Here are the highlights:

101 Welcome Program (Move-in period: August 30 to September 6)
The uOttawa team welcomes new students at Ottawa’s airport, train station and bus station and shuttles them to campus. Once on campus, students will be greeted by special uOttawa teams of returning students who will show them how to get around campus, help the newcomers move into residence and provide information about campus services.
