Get Film Festival Gala Tickets from the Alumni Association

The King's Alumni Association is pleased to offer discounted tickets to the
26th Atlantic Film Festival Opening Night Gala on Thursday, September 14th,
2006. A limited number of tickets for the screening and VIP Gala party are
available for only $50 - first come, first serve.

The 26th Atlantic Film Festival, will present Zacharias Kunuk and Norman
Cohn's highly acclaimed film The Journals of Knud Rasmussen as this year's
Empire Theatres Opening Night Gala screening.

Inuit director Zacharias Kunuk has followed up his international breakout
hit Atanarjuat - The Fast Runner with this Canada-Denmark co-production. Set
in 1922, The Journals of Knud Rasmussen tells the story of the difficult and
conflicting choices facing a Shaman, Avva, and his daughter Apak when
Christianity arrives in the Canadian North and begins to affect their
culture and impact their way of life. Opaque, mystical and driven by a
desire for authenticity, The Journals of Knud Rasmussen is a mesmerizing
exploration of the collision between native and non-native cultures.

The Journals of Knud Rasmussen stars Pakak Innukshuk, Leah Angutimarik,
Neeve Uttak, Samuelie Ammaq, Abraham Ulayuruluk, Natar Ungalaaq, Peter-Henry
Arnatsiaq, Sofie Danielsen, Piuaitsoq Petersen, Jakob Cedergren, Jens Jørn
Spottag, and Kim Bodnia.

IFC Opening Night Party is on Argyle Street again with headline act the
Acadian band Blou! Last year local papers called this event the party of the year.

Don’t miss your chance to be a part of the fun and support Canadian
film-making at its best.

Access of this type is something that the Alumni Association is working to
provide its members.
