BU to welcome new students with Launch and Blueprint Orientation 2006

BRANDON, MB – On Tuesday, September 5, Brandon University will welcome new and returning students to the campus as they begin the 2006/2007 academic year with Launch: 2006 and the Blueprint Orientation day. BU invites all members of the Brandon community to join us in celebrating the start of another year!

Several activities are scheduled for the day to help students acclimate themselves to the new environment and, for some, to the world of university study. There will be many new students and parents on campus that day, and BU faculty, staff and returning students are asked to keep their eyes out for those who look lost, or like they need help figuring out what to do next—give them a hand and show them how welcoming and supportive we are at BU!

Events planned for the day include the Launch: 2006 ceremony, a barbecue lunch on the courtyard, and special Super Scrabble game organized by the Brandon University Students' Union. Read on for a full schedule of the days activities:

9:00 – 9:45 a.m.: Students and leaders meet with their MOBS at designated locations for ice-breakers, course info, and campus orientation.

11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: BUSU "Super Scrabble" event – Students attending Brandon University's Blueprint Orientation sessions will participate in a very special event organized by the Brandon University Students' Union (BUSU).
