August 3, 2006 Source: : http://www.smu.ca/newsreleases/2006/04-08-2006.html My research just rocks A geology professor at Saint Mary’s University is receiving major support for her research from a well known petroleum research organization in the region. Dr. Georgia Pe-Piper has been awarded $278,000.00 from Petroleum Research Atlantic Canada (PRAC). This funding will allow her to carry out an extensive research project, which is entitled, "Diagnesis of Cretaceous Rocks in the Sable Sub-Basin, Offshore Nova Scotia." The grant is also being supported by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) of Canada, ExxonMobil, and the Geological Survey of Canada.
