This year’s conference features Lewis Lapham, a keen cultural and literary observer, and political gadfly who unceasingly advocates "speaking truth to power." Mr. Lapham, the editor in chief of Harper’s Magazine based in New York City, is the author of over 300 essays and 13 books, including Gag Rule: On the Suppression of Dissent and the Stifling of Democracy (2004).
