Here is your chance to reduce your Laurier Library fines and help out the Laurier Student Food Bank at the same time! Between Monday, November 13 and Tuesday, December 19, bring non-perishable food items to the Library to lessen your fines by $5.00 (by bringing in three items) or $10.00 (by bringing in five items). While $10.00 is the maximum amount by which you can reduce your fines by, more items or voluntary contributions are more than welcome! All food items collected with the Food for Fines program will be donated directly to the Laurier Student Food Bank, which opened just recently this past October. The Student Food Bank, a member of the Food Bank of Waterloo Region Network, is available to all Laurier students and is completely anonymous. Each student can use the Laurier Food Bank up to three times per semester. Last year, the Food for Fines program donated over 300lbs. of food to the Waterloo Regional Food Bank.
