Segal was appointed to the Senate by Prime Minister Paul Martin in 2005 and is the Former Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. One of Canada's foremost public policy experts, his most recent book is The Long Road Back: The Conservative Journey, 1993-2006.
