The Faculty of Education Awards for Excellence
4 p.m. - 7 p.m., Lounge 140, Residential Complex (90 University, Ottawa)
The Faculty of Education will present four Awards for Excellence to
recognize outstanding contributions to University teaching and research as
well as the contributions and dedication of support staff to the Faculty of
Education of the University of Ottawa. Specifically, this event will
celebrate the contributions of the following people:
• Cheryll Duquette – Award of Excellence in Teaching
• Colla Jean MacDonald – Award for Excellence in Research
• Nicola Gazzola – New Researcher Award
• Suzanne Piette – Support Staff Award for Excellence

Chancellor’s and President’s Scholarships Reception

The University of Ottawa will be honouring its 2006-2007 prestige
scholarship winners at a reception taking place this week. These
scholarships will be awarded to 12 undergraduate students who have each
demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, leadership in the community
and involvement extracurricular activities.

Fall Convocation, 2006 Undergraduates
9:30 a.m. (ceremony I), 2:30 p.m. (ceremony II), Southam Hall, National Arts
Centre (53 Elgin St.,Ottawa)
More than 1,300 students will receive their diplomas at the University of
Ottawa’s 2006 Fall Convocation. Graduates will be given the opportunity to
hear words of advice and encouragement by Gérald Savoie, CEO of Montfort
Hospital as well as those of Françoise Héritier, internationally renowned
anthropologist and honorary professor of the Collège de France. Both will be
receiving an honorary doctorate from the University. Gérald Savoie will
receive his honorary doctorate at the 9:30 a.m. ceremony while Françoise
Héritier will receive hers at 2:30 p.m.
