Carleton’s New Ice House Second to None--Carleton opens twin ice pad facility with community skate

September 13, 2005

Carleton University will officially open its new Ice House, home of the Carleton University Ravens’ women’s varsity hockey team.

When:
Thursday, September 15, 2005
2:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Where:
Varsity Arena
Ice House
Carleton University

Background:
The most comprehensive adult facility of its kind in central Ottawa, the Ice House is the final of three major capital projects in the athletics department over the past three years. The Alumni Hall and Sports Centre was opened earlier this year and the Fieldhouse was completed in 2003. These new additions propel Carleton University’s athletics facilities to the forefront among comprehensive universities.

Multiple photo opportunities will be available:

2:15 to 3:00 – Free community skate

3:30 to 3:45 – Official opening ceremonies

3:45 to 4:30 – Varsity women’s hockey team scrimmage
