The Univeristy of Ottawa announces the creation of the J. David Grimes Research Chair, in partnership with the Ottawa Health Research Institute, the Canadian Institutes for Health Research and GlaxoSmithKline Inc. This exciting new chair will push the boundaries of neurological research working to identify new cures for brain disorders.

The University of Ottawa will recognize excellence in research and teaching during a special reception September 14th. President Gilles Patry will be on hand to congratulate four researchers for their work, two of whom will become University Research Chairs. The President will also celebrate the announcement of the newest Research Chair in Canadian Francophonie and the prize for the Young Researcher of the Year 2005.

A special dinner is organized in honour of Father Roger Guindon, former Rector of the University of Ottawa, in celebration of his 85th birthday. This remarkable evening will be the highlight of the University’s new annual Homecoming tradition. Alex Trebek, host of the popular television game show Jeopardy and a proud alumnus of the University of Ottawa will be on hand to help welcome you to this extraordinary event.
