http://www.nipissingu.ca/news/view.asp?ID=20060810 Inaugural Queerical Up North meeting Monday Queer students and LGBTTIQ friends and allies are invited to attend the first meeting of Queerical Up North on Monday, Sept. 18, from 4-6 p.m. in room H160 at Nipissing University. Queerical Up North unites Nipissing University and Canadore College students, as well as community members, to proactively examine society and intersections of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, ablebodiness, geographical location, language and culture through the lens of sexuality. We explore artistic mediums such as film, television, children and adolescent literature, creative writing, poetry, collage, and painting. We offer community-based educational workshops, seminars, and presentations to promote social justice and increased understanding of heterosexism and homophobia.
