This event will attract over 500 high school, college and university students, with a theme surrounding entrepreneurship. As small business is the backbone to our local economy, this event will serve as an ideal way to promote available entrepreneurial opportunities to our region’s youth. Minister Takhar, Ministry of Small Business of Entrepreneurship will bring greetings on behalf of the Province of Ontario, where he will speak to the importance of small and medium-sized business in the province and how the Government of Ontario can assist student entrepreneurs start their own venture. "Small business is the foundation of North Bay’s economy," said Takhar. "The McGuinty government recognizes that supporting our young entrepreneurs will lead to success, innovation, better jobs and a brighter future for not only the residents of North Bay, but all Ontarians." Special appearances will be made by Canadian Idol Judge-Jake Gold, President of The Management Trust/Kindling Music in addition to North Bay’s Steve Herman, CEO of The Agency Group and North Bay’s Steve Blair, Director, A&R of Warner Music Canada. Collectively, these individuals represent bands like The Populars, INXS, Great Big Sea from around the globe. At this time, special guests will be discussing the significant role business plays within the music industry. The Business Centre will provide information about the program opportunities while introducing a panel of local young entrepreneurs who will share their experiences. The event will be emceed by Scott Clark of Benjamin James Marketing and Advertising, who will be sure to engage the audience throughout the session with his high-energy delivery and spirited personality.
