Julian Roberts, the Assistant Director of the University of Oxford’s Centre for Criminology, will speak on perceptions and realities surrounding crime prevention on the evening of September 20. In papers prepared for UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Roberts has argued that while public perceptions of increasing crime rates are often incorrect, governments still have a responsibility to ensure that criminal justice systems are responsive to the public.
