September Announcements.

Redeemer Offers Hurricane Katrina Scholarships
To be of assistance to those affected by hurricane Katrina, Redeemer University College will accept up to five qualified displaced students, providing full scholarships for tuition, room and board with the generous support of anonymous donors and covering travel costs through the contributions of faculty, staff and students. Admission as a visiting student will be open until September 15, and students will need to be on campus and register no later than September 22. For information on how to apply, please call 1-800-263-6467. Any unused donations will be sent to an appropriate relief fund.

Opening Convocation
Redeemer University College welcomes all faculty, students, friends and families to the new academic year. Opening Convocation took place on Wednesday, September 7, 2005, 10:00 a.m. in the Auditorium. The President Dr. Justin D. Cooper spoke about this year's theme "Ambassadors of Christ's Reconciliation," based on 2 Corinthians 5:11-21.
Pascal Centre Conference

Congratulations to the Pascal Centre staff for their work hosting Third International Pascal Centre Conference, "Interpreting Nature & Scripture: History of a Dialogue." The Pascal Centre for Advanced Studies in Faith and Science, one of two research centres at Redeemer, specializes in studies of the interaction between religion and science from a Reformed biblical perspective.

Summer Conference Guests
Redeemer welcomes a number of groups and conferences over the summer months. Despite the construction underway for the Peter Turkstra Library and the classroom addition, Conference Services is hosting another busy summer season. If you have questions about this summer's conferences or wish to investigate conference facilities for a future event, please call Annette Van Solen at extension 4124.

The Bernard Zylstra Lecture Series - Online
The speech "Spirituality and Entrepreneurship" by Theodore Roosevelt Malloch, Ph.D., part of The Bernard Zylstra Lecture Series, recently hosted by Redeemer University College, is now available for download in PDF format here. Dr. Zylstra, a former professor of political theory at the Institute for Christian Studies, was an incisive debater and thinker with a passion to reflect the lordship of Jesus Christ in public life. The Lecture series is a tribute to him and his theories on religion, culture and politics.

Campaign Reaches the Three-Quarter Mark
Redeemer University College's "Growing with Integrity" capital campaign has hit the 9 Million Dollar mark! THAT'S 3/4 OF THE WAY!! We are thankful to God for the individual and corporate donors that have generously supported Redeemer in the current construction of our new library-classroom building and other important projects in our campus development program. As we enter the final phase of the campaign, please remember the university community in your prayers. If you would like more information on Redeemer and its "Growing With Integrity" capital campaign, please call the campaign office 1-877-779-0913 ext. 4470.

President's Prayer Letter
For some time President Cooper has shared a monthly prayer letter with supporters of Redeemer who have requested that he share with them needs of the College and reasons for thanksgiving which they could make part of their prayer life. We are pleased to bring these monthly prayer letters (and archived copies) to our website so that more people may support the Redeemer community in prayer. The web version may be accessed under "Quick Links" or by bookmarking http://www.redeemer.on.ca/about/prayer.htm. If you do not have regular web access and would like a copy of the prayer letter mailed to you, please contact the Office of the President.
